Outreach Worker

Provide community-based outreach at the Lancaster Avenue Drop-in Center and Wilmington site, delivering health education and risk-reduction activities to individuals at risk for HIV and HCV. The Outreach Worker engages in on-site and street-based outreach, facilitating access to services such as anonymous needle exchange, HIV/HCV testing and counseling, pregnancy testing, overdose prevention, and referrals to treatment and social services. Responsibilities include acting as a liaison to help clients enter treatment, guiding linkage to professionals, delivering wound care and drug checking, maintaining professional standards, and serving as the first point of contact for clients within the Syringe Services Program serving Kent and Sussex Counties. The role involves extensive in-home and community-based work outside of a traditional office setting.
