Job Summary
Publicize U.S. VETS services by visiting shelters, treatment programs, transitional housing, sober living programs, and soup kitchens where veterans congregate. Maintain a database of client information and referrals to track veterans and schedule screening appointments. Coordinate transportation for veterans to U.S. VETS sites and program events. Collaborate with external service providers to ensure timely collection of required paperwork for client files. Produce weekly reports of veterans encountered by the outreach team and assist with communication of upcoming projects and special events. Attend weekly outreach meetings and participate in team activities. Perform other duties as assigned. For SSG FOX clients, complete VA dashboard assessments, CSSR forms, PHQP, and intake psychosocial assessments while building rapport with clients and community partners.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social services or related field
- Experience working with people experiencing homelessness and/or the veteran population
- One year of experience in social services (employment at U.S. VETS for at least six months may substitute for one year of experience)
- Strong oral, written, and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work within a team
- Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet company insurance requirements
