Job Summary
Outreach Specialist responsible for engaging homeless individuals at the Cafe during hours mandated by the City of Philadelphia’s Coordinated Cafe Initiative. Facilitate access to appropriate services, including referrals to supports and potential hospitalizations as needed, while upholding Horizon House values. Requires on-site presence in Philadelphia, collaboration with the Hope Café team, and independence within a focused team environment. Strong interpersonal and mental health knowledge are desirable.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED and a minimum of (3) years of relevant experience in substance abuse counseling; or any combination of experience, education or training that would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability required.
Desired Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience in working with Drug and Alcohol affected clients preferred
- Mental Health knowledge desired
- Ability to work independently and as part of a focused team
