Job Summary
As a ProMedica Phlebotomist at Toledo Hospital, you will collect specimens and/or perform testing, execute pre-analytic tasks (e.g., centrifugation, decanting, specimen distribution/packaging), and ensure asepsis/antisepsis. Leverage quality assurance data to enhance services and propose procedural changes to address quality issues and improve customer satisfaction. You will be familiar with test names/abbreviations and cross-reference tests to specimen types, and you may train new associates or students using your leadership skills. This role supports patient care before, during, and after collection and is described as full-time with days shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- A diploma from an accredited phlebotomy training institute OR 6 months phlebotomy experience
- 6 months' experience in a high-volume phlebotomy environment (approximately 30 draws a day) or Successful completion of an academic program which included substantial, practical clinical phlebotomy experience (EX: 3+ week clinical student rotation program in a hospital setting or clinical student rotation with 100 successful venipunctures completed)
