Job Summary
Outreach and Communications Coordinator at LYRIC leads and supports LYRIC’s communications and development/fundraising efforts. The role involves co-developing and implementing LYRIC’s communications plan, managing LYRIC’s digital channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, e-news), crafting organization-wide messages, coordinating consultants/vendors, developing guidelines (Content Creation, Style Guide, Social Media), supporting campaigns (e.g., Capitol Renovation), engaging stakeholders, maintaining the website, supporting events and budget input, and attending staff/board activities. Requires ~2 years in nonprofit communications, strong written/verbal communication, graphic/web design skills, social media experience, project-management ability, and commitment to youth development and social justice.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of verifiable experience in communications planning and implementation of diverse communication strategies for a nonprofit organization
- Excellent written communication skills (English)
- Strong verbal communication, presentation skills
- Extensive computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite
- Graphic design experience; proven experience using graphics and web development tools, including Publisher, Wordpress, basic HTML
- Experience working with Social Media (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, etc.) on behalf of an organization
- Excellent project management and planning skills. Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects within deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; highly organized
- Commitment to the mission and philosophy of LYRIC
- Knowledge of youth issues, particularly those affecting LGBTQQ youth
- Commitment to youth development, social justice and anti-oppression principles and practices
- Ability to interact with LYRIC constituents and external audiences with a pleasant and effective manner
- Experience and competencies in working in a multiracial, multicultural environment
- Some weekends and evening hours are required and will be scheduled in advance
