Job Summary
Therapist/Counselor provides individual, group and family therapy to adults with substance use and co-occurring disorders, acting as treatment plan coordinator for the multidisciplinary team from admission to discharge. Responsibilities include delivering counseling and assessments, coordinating all aspects of direct clinical care, collaborating on written treatment and discharge plans, educating clients and families, documenting clinical information, ensuring confidentiality and compliance, and supporting quality assurance and coordination with utilization review and community providers. Requires a Master’s degree in mental health or social sciences, active licensure in the treatment state, and a minimum of 1+ year of relevant experience. Ability to operate within HIPAA guidelines and EMR systems is needed, along with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree of Mental Health or Social Sciences, or commensurate experience required
- Must hold an active substance use or mental health licensure in the state where treatment services are rendered
- Must maintain applicable state licensure requirements at hire, and for the entire duration of employment
- 1+ year of experience in relevant field required
- Ability to work with a diverse population and possess strong interpersonal skills and knowledge required for treating clients assigned
- Must hold strong personal boundaries and able to build rapport with patients
- Must understand and adhere to the ethical standards of the respective licensure governing board
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and EMR systems
