Job Summary
Outpatient Therapist in the Flourishing Families program located in Southern Pines, NC. Conducts comprehensive clinical assessments and provides counseling, crisis intervention, and ongoing support for parenting women with substance use disorders and their children. Uses a two-generation approach to address psycho-social, mental health, substance use, and medical needs; develops person-centered and crisis plans; delivers parenting support with Circle of Security; collaborates with peers and coordinators to coordinate services and benefits, and to link clients with resources. Requires a Master’s degree in clinical psychology, counseling, or social work and licensure options (LCAS/LCASA or LPA or LCMHC/LCMHCA or LCSWA/LCSW). Duties include individual therapy, assessments, and program-wide collaboration to support the family unit; offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for career growth.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in clinical psychology, counseling, or social work
- NCSAPPB Licensure as LCAS/LCASA; or LPA, or LCMHC/LCMHCA, LCSWA/LCSW
- Experience with culturally diverse children and families; parent-child therapeutic work and play therapy
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments for individuals referred into the program
- Provides counseling, crisis intervention, follow up, outreach, and support for the specialized population
- Evaluates client and family situations with emphasis on parent-child relationship; conducts in-depth psycho-social, mental health, substance use and medical needs assessments; documents diagnoses and recommendations; develops Person-Centered and Crisis Plans
- Uses a two-generation perspective; helps the parent gain insight into personal history, parenting practices
- Provides parenting support utilizing the Circle of Security Model; engages with caregiver and child in supportive, reflective manner
- Collaborates with Peer Support Specialist and Coordinator for case management and service integration; informs client about benefits and services; arranges for benefits and services; monitors provision of services
