Job Summary
The Child & Adolescent Therapist provides evidence-based mental health treatment to children, adolescents, and families in outpatient programs, delivering individual, group, and family therapy. Responsibilities include biopsychosocial and diagnostic assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, utilizing modalities such as CBT, Play Therapy, and TF-CBT, leading psychoeducational groups as needed, and coordinating with caregivers, schools, and community supports. The role requires strong knowledge of child development, trauma-informed care, and ability to conduct therapy in in-office and telehealth formats, with EMR documentation per DMAS standards. Requires a Master’s degree in a relevant field, Virginia licensure-eligibility, and at least one year of direct clinical experience.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy
- Active or license-eligible status in Virginia (LPC, LMFT, LCSW, or LMHP-R)
- Minimum of one year of direct clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and families in an outpatient, school-based, or community mental health setting
- Certification or specialized training in child therapy (e.g., Play Therapy, TF-CBT, Sand Tray, Family Systems, etc.) preferred
- Proficiency in EMR documentation and telehealth platforms
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings
