Job Summary
Outpatient Services Technician responsible for full patient registration and basic care tasks in the Outpatient Services center, including phlebotomy, ECGs, drug screens, specimen collection, and accurate registration with up-to-date EHR records. Duties emphasize confidentiality, safe patient environment, accurate interpretation of physician orders, insurance verification, handling out-of-pocket liabilities, and referrals to financial counselors as needed. Requires proficiency with medical terminology, typing and computer use, and adherence to AIDET standards during patient registration.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
- Board-eligible phlebotomy course with certification preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required – will obtain during hospital orientation
- Additional coursework in Medical Assisting or hospital/physician office experience preferred
