Job Summary
Coordinate daily chronic hemodialysis therapy for assigned patients, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Perform ongoing data collection pre-, during, and post-treatment to adjust treatment plans and document in medical records. Administer medications per approved algorithms, ensure laboratory collection and shipping procedures, and enter physician orders into the Medical Record. Direct and provide safe delivery of care while monitoring staff adherence to policy, promoting infection control, and initiating emergency responses. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to update care plans, educate patients and families, and make referrals to social workers and dietitians. Complete CAP RN 1 requirements to advance within 24 months while participating in staff meetings and training new employees.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 12 months' experience working as a licensed RN in an acute (med/surg, tele, ICU, ER, etc) or skilled setting
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed
- Must have a minimum of 9 months experience as an RN
- Must meet all conditions of employment including Ishihara's Color Blindness Test
- Successful completion of FKC Education and Training requirements for new employees
- Successful completion and maintenance of CPR BLS Certification
Desired Qualifications
- Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of nephrology nursing experience within the last two years
- RNs with a BSN and less than 1 year of nephrology nursing experience within the last two years
- Minimum of 9 months experience as a Registered Nurse (preferred)
- Chronic hemodialysis experience (preferred)
- Successful completion of 3 months experience in chronic hemodialysis
