Job Summary
Outpatient RN CAP 1 provides clinically competent care for an assigned patient group in the outpatient dialysis setting, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Works with direct care staff (RNs, LVN/LPNs, Patient Care Technicians) and participates in decision-making, teaching, leadership, and quality improvement. Administers medications, initiates emergency measures, ensures proper lab processing, updates care plans, educates patients and families, and supports transplant modality information. Must complete CAP requirements and adhere to Fresenius Kidney Care policies and nursing standards; travel to training sites or other facilities may be required; heavy lifting and exposure to infectious materials are possible.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet practice requirements in the state employed
- Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience
- Chronic/acute hemodialysis experience (preferred)
