Job Summary
Outpatient RN within Fresenius Kidney Care CAP program providing comprehensive nephrology nursing care for an assigned patient group. Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, intervention, education for patients and families, directing daily hemodialysis therapy with RN supervision, administering prescribed medications, emergency response, and contributing to quality improvement. Requires completion of CAP requirements to advance, RN licensure in the state, CPR/BLS certification, and prior hemodialysis experience (preferred). Travel to training sites or facilities may be required. Demonstrates clinical leadership, participates in training and orientation of staff, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed
- Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience as a Registered Nurse
- Chronic/acute hemodialysis experience (preferred)
- The position requires heavy lifting and movement of patients and equipment
- Ability to perform essential nursing duties in an outpatient dialysis setting
- Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Ability to document and communicate patient data accurately
