Job Summary
Outpatient RN in Fresenius Kidney Care's CAP program provides and coordinates clinically competent care for an assigned group of hemodialysis patients, including ongoing assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation; may delegate tasks to RNs, LVNs/LPNs, and patient care technicians; collaborates with the health care team to ensure quality outcomes, education for patients and families, and adherence to policy, procedures, and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include administering prescribed medications, initiating emergency responses, leading or mentoring staff, ensuring proper lab processes, documenting care plans and outcomes, and participating in quality improvement activities. Requires RN licensure, CPR/BLS certification, and a minimum of RN experience with dialysis exposure; entry-level designation within the CAP pathway with potential for advancement. Travel to training sites or other facilities may be required. Fresenius Medical Care is an equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current appropriate state nursing licensure
- Current CPR/BLS Certification
- Must meet practice requirements in the state of employment
- Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of nephrology nursing experience
- Minimum 9 months RN experience
- Minimum 3 months chronic/acute hemodialysis experience (preferred)
