Job Summary
Outpatient RN (CAP1) responsible for providing and coordinating clinically competent care for an assigned group of dialysis patients, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Performs ongoing data collection during hemodialysis, adjusts care plans as indicated, educates patients and families, administers medications per algorithm, initiates emergency measures, and serves as a resource for the care team. Participates in ESRD-team decision-making, teaching, leadership, and quality improvement activities. Engages in CAP requirements to advance and may supervise or delegate tasks to direct patient care staff. Requires RN licensure and CPR/BLS certification; entry-level nephrology nurse with potential for growth within the CAP program. May involve travel to training sites; heavy lifting and bending described in duties.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet state practice requirements
