Job Summary
Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) within the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP) provides and coordinates clinically competent care for an assigned group of patients undergoing hemodialysis, including data collection and documentation, education for patients and families, and collaboration with RNs, LVNs/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians. The role supports decision-making, teaching, leadership, and quality improvement as part of Fresenius Kidney Care’s health care team; requires active state licensure, CPR/BLS certification, and CAP progression requirements. Responsibilities include administering medications as prescribed, initiating emergency responses, coordinating with interdisciplinary team for care plans, ensuring accurate lab procedures, and supporting transplant modality discussions. This position may involve travel to training sites or other facilities and requires the ability to perform heavy lifting and frequent standing in a healthcare setting.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed
- Entry level RN with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (preferred)
- Minimum 9 months experience as a RN
- Minimum 3 months experience in chronic/acute hemodialysis as a RN
