Job Summary
Outpatient RN position within Fresenius Kidney Care CAP program. Responsible for coordinating and delivering clinically competent care to an assigned patient group undergoing hemodialysis, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Works with RNs, LVNs/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians; provides education to patients/families; participates in team leadership, quality improvement, and program advancement; may delegate tasks as appropriate, ensures accurate lab processing/shipping, and supports transplant and treatment option discussions. Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, current RN licensure, CPR/BLS certification, and adherence to policy and state/federal regulations. Entry level with path to CAP advancement; travel to training sites or facilities may be required; physical demands include heavy lifting and prolonged standing. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current appropriate state licensure as an RN
- Current or successful CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in the state of employment
- Minimum 9 months RN experience
- Minimum 3 months experience in chronic/acute hemodialysis as an RN
- Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with patient movement as part of dialysis care
