Job Summary
Conduct daily hemodialysis therapy for assigned patients, including pre- and post-treatment data collection, medication administration, and emergency response. Assess patient learning needs to provide education to patients and families, while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to update care plans and outcomes. Document all interventions, ensure correct laboratory processing, and delegate tasks to direct care staff under supervisor direction. Participate in staff training, orientation, and quality improvement activities to enhance facility operations. Requires minimum 9 months RN experience and 3 months hemodialysis experience; successful completion of Fresenius Kidney Care training required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed
- Must have a minimum of 9 months experience as a RN
- Must have a minimum of 3 months experience in chronic/acute hemodialysis as a RN
- Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience as a Registered Nurse
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to move, with assistance, machines and equipment of up to 200 lbs.
- Must be able to lift, move, and assist with ambulation of patients
- Must be able to work in an environment with moderate noise levels
- Must be able to work in a health care facility
- Must be able to perform desk work
- Must be able to perform computer work
- Must be able to interact with patients
- Must be able to interact with facility/hospital staff
- Must be able to interact with physicians
- Must be able to travel to training sites or other facilities
- Must be able to provide essential functions of this position in other locations
- Must be able to work in a drug-free workplace
