Outpatient Registered Nurse - RN

Job Summary
Conduct outpatient hemodialysis therapy for assigned patients, performing ongoing data collection, treatment plan adjustments, and medication administration. Assess and document patient learning needs to provide education to patients and families, while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to update nursing assessments and care plans. Direct and oversee Patient Care Technicians, LPNs, and LVNs as a Team Leader or Nurse in Charge, initiating emergency responses and ensuring accurate laboratory collection and shipping. Complete CAP requirements to advance within the Clinical Advancement Program. Requires current RN licensure, at least 9 months of RN experience, and 3 months in hemodialysis.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed
- Must have a minimum of 9 months experience as a RN
- Must have a minimum of 3 months experience in chronic/acute hemodialysis as a RN
- Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience as a Registered Nurse
- Must be able to lift 200 lbs. with assistance
- Must be able to lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods
- Must be able to move machines and equipment of up to 200 lbs. with assistance
- Must be able to assist with patient ambulation
- Must be available for travel to training sites or other facilities
- Must be able to perform essential functions in other locations
- Must agree to a drug-free workplace
