Job Summary
Coordinate and deliver safe hemodialysis therapy to assigned patients while collecting and analyzing pre-, during-, and post-treatment data to adjust treatment plans. Assess patient and family learning needs to provide education, administer medications per protocol, and document medical justifications. Manage emergency responses, ensure accurate laboratory collection and shipping, and update nursing assessments through collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Delegate tasks to direct care staff including LPNs, LVNs, and Patient Care Technicians under supervisor direction. Complete Clinical Advancement Program requirements to advance within the Fresenius Kidney Care team.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed
- Must have a minimum of 9 months experience as a RN
- Must have a minimum of 3 months experience in chronic/acute hemodialysis as a RN
- Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience as a Registered Nurse
- Must be able to lift 200 lbs. with assistance
- Must be able to lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods
- Must be able to move patients and assist with ambulation
- Must be able to perform essential functions in other locations
- Must be able to work in an environment with moderate noise levels
- Must be able to work in an environment with air temperature control
- Must be able to work in a health care facility
- Must be able to interact with patients, facility/hospital staff and physicians
- Must be able to perform desk work and computer work
- Must be able to work in an environment where the employee may be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials
- Must be able to complete CAP requirements to advance
