Job Summary
Outpatient RN CAP 1—entry-level position providing assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of clinically competent care for an assigned patient group in a dialysis setting. Works under supervision to collect and analyze patient data during hemodialysis, adjust treatment plans, educate patients and families, and coordinate safe delivery of hemodialysis therapy. Serves as a resource for the health care team, participates in staff training and orientation, administers medications as prescribed, initiates emergency responses, and supports transplant/treatment modality education within the End Stage Kidney Disease care team. Requires RN licensure, graduation from an accredited nursing program, BLS/ CPR certification, and adherence to policy and state regulations; nephrology/HD experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed
- Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience as a Registered Nurse
- Chronic/acute hemodialysis experience (preferred)
