Job Summary
Outpatient RN CAP 1 in Fresenius Kidney Care providing, coordinating, and evaluating clinically competent care for an assigned group of patients undergoing hemodialysis. Responsible for data collection and analysis pre-during-post dialysis, adjusting treatment plans as indicated, and documenting in the patient medical record. Educates patients and families, oversees direct care staff in delivering safe HD therapy, administers prescribed medications, and participates in emergency responses. Serves as a resource for the health care team, participates in staff training, ensures proper lab collection and processing, and updates nursing assessments and care plans in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team. Supports education regarding transplant options and treatment modalities, completes CAP requirements to advance, and may travel to training sites or other facilities. Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, current state licensure, CPR/BLS certification, and minimal nephrology nursing experience; entry-level designation with potential for growth within the CAP program.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed
- Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience as a Registered Nurse
- Chronic/acute hemodialysis experience (preferred)
