Job Summary
Coordinate daily hemodialysis therapy for assigned patients by assessing learning needs, administering medications, and adjusting treatment plans based on pre- and post-treatment data analysis. Document all interventions in medical records, ensure proper laboratory collection and shipping, and initiate emergency response measures as required. Collaborate with direct care staff, including LVNs/LPNs and PCTs, to deliver safe patient care while participating in staff training, orientation, and quality improvement activities within the End Stage Kidney Disease team. Complete Clinical Advancement Program requirements to advance designation. Requires current RN licensure, BLS certification, and 9 months of RN experience with a preference for 3 months in hemodialysis. Hourly rate ranges from $33.00 to $56.00.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed
- Must have a minimum of 9 months experience as a RN
- Must have a minimum of 3 months experience in chronic/acute hemodialysis as a RN
- Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience as a Registered Nurse
- Must be able to lift 200 lbs. with assistance
- Must be able to lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to perform frequent, prolonged periods of standing
- Must be able to move, with assistance, machines and equipment
- Must be able to handle exposure to infectious and contagious diseases/materials
- Must be able to travel to training sites or other facilities
- Must be able to provide essential functions of this position in other locations
