Job Summary
Conduct outpatient hemodialysis therapy for assigned patients, performing ongoing data collection, analysis, and treatment plan adjustments. Assess patient and family learning needs to provide education, administer prescribed medications, and ensure correct laboratory collection and shipping procedures. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to update nursing assessments and initiate emergency response measures as required. Document all interventions and notify the Team Leader or Supervisor of necessary modifications. This entry-level role within Fresenius Kidney Care's Clinical Advancement Program requires a Registered Nurse with at least 9 months of general RN experience and 3 months in hemodialysis. Successful completion of CAP requirements is necessary to advance.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed
- Must have a minimum of 9 months experience as a RN
- Must have a minimum of 3 months experience in chronic/acute hemodialysis as a RN
- Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience as a Registered Nurse
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to move, with assistance, machines and equipment of up to 200 lbs.
- Must be able to lift, move, and assist with ambulation of patients
- Must be able to work in an environment with moderate noise levels
- Must be able to work in a health care facility
- Must be able to perform desk work
- Must be able to perform computer work
- Must be able to interact with patients
- Must be able to interact with facility/hospital staff
- Must be able to interact with physicians
- Must be able to travel to training sites or other facilities
- Must be able to provide essential functions of the position in other locations
- Must agree to a drug-free workplace
