Job Summary
Conduct daily hemodialysis therapy for assigned patients while assessing, planning, and evaluating their clinical needs. Perform systematic data collection pre-, during-, and post-treatment to adjust treatment plans and document outcomes in medical records. Administer medications per approved algorithms and ensure accurate laboratory collection and shipping procedures. Provide education to patients and families regarding transplant options and treatment modalities. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to update care plans and initiate emergency response measures as required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed
- Must have a minimum of 9 months experience as a RN
- Must have a minimum of 3 months experience in chronic/acute hemodialysis as a RN
- Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience as a Registered Nurse
- Must be able to lift 200 lbs.
- Must be able to lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods
- Must be able to move machines and equipment with assistance
- Must be able to assist with patient ambulation
- Must be able to handle exposure to infectious and contagious diseases/materials
- Must be able to travel to training sites or other facilities
- Must be able to provide essential functions of this position in other locations
Desired Qualifications
- Chronic/acute hemodialysis experience (preferred)
