Outpatient Registered Nurse - RN

Job Summary
Conduct outpatient hemodialysis therapy for assigned patients, performing ongoing data collection, treatment plan adjustments, and medication administration. Assess patient needs, provide education to patients and families, and document outcomes through collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Direct and coordinate care for direct and ancillary staff, including delegation of tasks to RNs, LVNs/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians. Initiate emergency response measures and ensure accurate laboratory collection and shipping procedures. Participate in staff training, orientation, and quality improvement activities to enhance patient care outcomes. Complete Clinical Advancement Program requirements to advance within the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed
- Must have a minimum of 9 months experience as a RN
- Must have a minimum of 3 months experience in chronic/acute hemodialysis as a RN
- Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience as a Registered Nurse
- Must be able to lift 200 lbs.
- Must be able to lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods
- Must be able to move machines and equipment
- Must be able to assist with ambulation
- Must be able to handle exposure to infectious and contagious diseases/materials
- Must be available for travel to training sites or other facilities
- Must be available to provide essential functions in other locations
Desired Qualifications
- Chronic/acute hemodialysis experience (preferred)
