Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• •Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• •Current appropriate state licensure
• •Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
• •Must meet the practice requirements in all states in which he or she is employed
• •Minimum 9 months experience as a Registered Nurse
• •Must have a minimum of 9 months experience as a RN
• •Must be able to lift 50 lbs
• •Must be able to lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs
• •Must be able to bend over
• •Must be able to move machines and equipment of up to 200 lbs
• •Must be able to stand for prolonged periods
• •Must be able to work in a moderate noise level environment
• •Must be able to work in air temperature controlled environments
• •Must be able to work with infectious and contagious diseases/materials
• •Must be able to travel to training/meeting sites and between assigned facilities
• •Must be able to participate in on-call rotation
• •Must be able to work night shifts
• •Must be able to work weekend shifts
• •Must be able to work holiday shifts
• •Must be able to perform essential functions in other locations
• •Must be able to delegate appropriate tasks to direct patient care staff including but not limited to RNs, LVN/LPNs and Patient Care Technicians
• •Must be able to assess, plan, intervene and evaluate for an assigned group of patients
• •Must be able to perform ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre – during – post treatment
• •Must be able to document in the patient medical record
• •Must be able to make adjustments and modifications to treatment plan
• •Must be able to notify Supervisor, Physician, patient's primary nurse and others
• •Must be able to assess, collaborate and document patient/family's basic learning needs
• •Must be able to provide initial and ongoing education to patients and family
• •Must be able to recognize aspects and implications of patient status that vary from normal
• •Must be able to report to or collaborate with appropriate health team members
• •Must be able to direct and provide safe effective patient care for assigned patients
• •Must be able to implement, administer, monitor, and document of patient's response to prescribed intradialytic transfusions
• •Must be able to notify appropriate notification of adverse reactions to physician and appropriate blood supplier
• •Must be able to administer medications as prescribed
• •Must be able to document appropriate medical justification and effectiveness
• •Must be able to initiate and assist with emergency response measures
• •Must be able to serve as a resource for health care team
• •Must be able to participate in staff training and orientation of new staff
• •Must be able to provide specialized nursing care instruction to hospital/facility staff
• •Must be able to initiate and coordinate communication with FKC and Non-FKC dialysis providers
• •Must be able to complete CAP requirements to advance
• •Must have less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience as an RN
• •Must be able to perform all essential functions as outlined with or without reasonable accommodation

Desired Qualifications

• •12 months (preferred) experience as a Registered Nurse
• •6 months experience in acute dialysis as a RN
• •6 months acute dialysis experience (preferred)
• •Hemodialysis and/or ICU experience (preferred)
