Job Summary
Conduct outpatient hemodialysis therapy for assigned patients, including pre- and post-treatment data collection, medication administration, and emergency response. Assess patient learning needs to provide education, document care plans, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on outcomes. Direct and supervise Patient Care Technicians, LPNs, and LVNs as a Team Leader or Nurse in Charge while participating in staff training and quality improvement activities. Ensure accurate laboratory processing and reschedule missed collections. Complete Clinical Advancement Program requirements to advance within the End Stage Kidney Disease health care team.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed
- Must have a minimum of 9 months experience as a RN
- Must have a minimum of 3 months experience in chronic/acute hemodialysis as a RN
- Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience as a Registered Nurse
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs
- Must be able to lift and move machines and equipment of up to 200 lbs
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods
- Must be able to move with assistance
- Must be available for travel to training sites or other facilities
- Must be available to provide essential functions in other locations

- Chronic/acute hemodialysis experience (preferred)
