Job Summary
Conduct daily hemodialysis therapy for assigned patients, including pre- and post-treatment data collection, medication administration, and emergency response. Collaborate with Patient Care Technicians and LVN/LPNs to coordinate care, while assessing, planning, and updating treatment plans based on patient progress. Provide education to patients and families regarding transplant options and treatment modalities, and mentor new employees as a preceptor. Ensure accurate laboratory collection and shipping procedures are followed. Maintain compliance with Fresenius Kidney Care policies and standards of nursing practice. This role supports the End Stage Kidney Disease team in quality improvement projects and requires a minimum of two years in nephrology nursing.
Required Qualifications
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must have a minimum of 3 months experience in chronic/acute hemodialysis as a RN
- Entry level for RNs with minimum of 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience
- Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed
- Must be able to lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to move, with assistance, machines, and equipment of up to 200 lbs.
- Must be able to perform essential functions of this position in other locations
- Must be able to work in an environment with moderate noise levels
- Must be able to handle exposure to infectious and contagious diseases/materials
- Must be able to work in a health care facility with air temperature control
