Outpatient Registered Nurse - RN

Job Summary
Conduct outpatient hemodialysis therapy for assigned patients, collecting and analyzing pre-during-post data to adjust treatment plans and document outcomes in medical records. Assess patient and family learning needs to provide initial and ongoing education, administer medications per approved algorithms, and initiate emergency response measures as required. Collaborate with direct care staff, including LVNs, LPNs, and PCTs, to ensure safe delivery of care while participating in staff training, orientation, and quality improvement activities. Perform laboratory collection, processing, and shipping procedures, updating nursing assessments through interdisciplinary team collaboration. Requires minimum 9 months RN experience and 3 months hemodialysis experience; full-time role with physical demands including heavy lifting and prolonged standing.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed
- Must have a minimum of 9 months experience as a RN
- Must have a minimum of 3 months experience in chronic/acute hemodialysis as a RN
- Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience as a Registered Nurse
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to move, with assistance, machines and equipment of up to 200 lbs.
- Must be able to lift and move patients
- Must be able to assist with ambulation
- Must be able to perform frequent, prolonged periods of standing
- Must be able to work in a health care facility with moderate noise levels
- Must be able to be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials
- Must be able to travel to training sites or other facilities
- Must be able to provide essential functions of this position in other locations
- Must be able to perform essential functions of this position in other locations with the same physical demands and working conditions as described above
- Must be able to complete CAP requirements to advance
