Job Summary
Entry-level Outpatient Registered Nurse in Fresenius Kidney Care CAP program providing and coordinating comprehensive care for hemodialysis patients. Responsibilities include data collection and analysis pre–during–post dialysis, adjusting treatment plans as needed, patient and family education, directing safe delivery of hemodialysis therapy, medication administration, emergency response, staff training/orientation, lab processing coordination, updating nursing assessment and care plans, transplant/treatment modality education, and contributing to quality improvement. Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, current state licensure, CPR/BLS certification, and adherence to facility policies; prior nephrology experience is preferred but entry-level for RNs with Less than 2 years in nephrology nursing will be considered. The role may involve travel to training sites or other facilities and may include supervision of PCTs/LPNs/LVNs/RNs as team leader or in-charge.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed
- Entry level RN with less than 2 years nephrology nursing experience
- Experience: minimum 9 months as RN; 3 months in chronic/acute hemodialysis (preferred)
- Duties include providing hemodialysis care, education, supervision of staff, documentation, and participates in CAP program
