Job Summary
Outpatient Registered Nurse position delivering and coordinating hemodialysis care in Fresenius Kidney Care. Responsibilities include assessing and documenting patient data pre–, during–, and post-hemodialysis, adjusting treatment plans as indicated, educating patients and families, coordinating with RNs/LVN/LPNs and Patient Care Technicians, administering prescribed medications, initiating emergency responses, serving as a resource and mentor to staff, ensuring proper lab collection and processing, updating nursing assessments and care plans with the interdisciplinary team, informing patients about transplant and treatment modality options, and participating in education and quality improvement projects. Role may involve precepting new employees and completing CAP requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current state nursing licensure
- Current or successful CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed
- Minimum 3 months experience in chronic/acute hemodialysis as an RN
- Entry level for RNs with minimum of 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience
