Job Summary

Assess, plan, and evaluate clinically competent care for assigned patients undergoing hemodialysis, including delegation of tasks to direct patient care staff. Perform systematic data collection pre-, during, and post-treatment to document in medical records and adjust treatment plans as needed. Administer medications per protocol, initiate emergency responses, and educate patients and families on transplant options and treatment modalities. Mentor new employees, lead quality improvement projects, and ensure accurate laboratory collection and shipping procedures. Requires 2+ years of nephrology nursing experience and completion of CAP requirements.

Required Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN)
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Current appropriate state licensure
Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed
Minimum of 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience
Must have a minimum of 3 months experience in chronic/acute hemodialysis as a RN
Must be able to lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet
Must be able to move, with assistance, machines, and equipment of up to 200 lbs.
Must be able to bend over
Must be able to perform frequent, prolonged periods of standing
Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
