Outpatient Registered Nurse - RN - Dialysis

Job Summary
Collect and analyze patient data pre-, during, and post-hemodialysis to adjust treatment plans and document outcomes in medical records. Administer medications per approved algorithms, ensure correct laboratory collection and shipping, and initiate emergency response measures as needed. Provide initial and ongoing education to patients and families regarding transplant options and treatment modalities while mentoring new employees. Direct daily delivery of hemodialysis therapy in collaboration with direct and ancillary staff, serving as a resource for the End Stage Kidney Disease team. Requires minimum 2 years of nephrology nursing experience and successful completion of Fresenius Kidney Care training requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed
- Must have a minimum of 3 months experience in chronic/acute hemodialysis as a RN
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet
- Must be able to move, with assistance, machines, and equipment of up to 200 lbs.
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to perform frequent, prolonged periods of standing
- Must be able to handle exposure to infectious and contagious diseases/materials
- Must be able to travel to training sites or other facilities
- Must be able to provide essential functions of this position in other locations
- Must be able to lift and move patients and assist with ambulation
- Must be able to perform essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses
