Outpatient Registered Nurse - RN - Dialysis

Job Summary
Provide and coordinate clinically competent care for outpatients undergoing hemodialysis as part of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) care team. Responsible for assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for an assigned group of patients, and may delegate tasks to direct care staff. Administers medications, participates in education for patients and families, and supports quality improvement initiatives. Serves as a resource to the health care team, participates in staff training, ensures proper lab collection/processing, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to update the nursing plan of care and discuss transplant/treatment modality options. Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, current state licensure, CPR/BLS certification, and a minimum of 9 months RN experience with at least 3 months in hemodialysis; CAP requirements to advance are also noted.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must have a minimum of 9 months experience as a RN
- Must have a minimum of 3 months experience in chronic/acute hemodialysis as a RN
