Job Summary
Coordinate hemodialysis therapy for assigned patients by performing ongoing data collection, treatment plan adjustments, and medication administration while documenting all interventions. Assess patient and family learning needs to provide education, lead emergency responses, and ensure accurate laboratory processing and shipping. Serve as a mentor and coach to direct patient care staff including LVNs, LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians, while participating in quality improvement and interdisciplinary team activities. Requires minimum 2 years of nephrology nursing experience and flexible rotating shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Experienced in Dialysis
- Flexible Rotating Shifts
- Entry level for RNs with minimum of 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience
- Must have a minimum of 3 months experience in chronic/acute hemodialysis as a RN
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed
- Must be able to lift 200 lbs.
- Must be able to lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods
- Must be able to move machines and equipment
- Must be able to move patients and assist with ambulation
- Must be able to work in a health care facility with moderate noise levels
- Must be able to be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials
- Must be able to travel to training sites or other facilities
- Must be able to provide essential functions of this position in other locations
