Outpatient Radiologic Technologist - Part Time

Job Summary
Conduct diagnostic x-ray, c-arm, and bone density exams for radiologist interpretation while assuring timely scheduling, accurate positioning, and safe patient screening. Maintain radiation protection, infection control, and standard precautions throughout patient assessments and care. Prepare radiology suites and adjacent clinical areas by ensuring equipment availability, performing quality control, and maintaining clean environments per OSHA and MUSC guidelines. Support safety culture by analyzing workflows, reporting issues, and addressing patient care problems. Complete required documentation, introduce procedures to patients, and communicate effectively with diverse patient populations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology
- 5 years for support or 0-2 years for professional
- Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 12 months
- Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
- Ability to evaluate and appropriately respond to verbal and non-verbal communication from patients' diverse stages of development
- Complete knowledge of related physics, anatomy, imaging techniques and medical terminology
- Maintain a professional demeanor in attitude, appearance, and communication
- Obtains pertinent history, verifies orders, and communicates effectively with co-workers and other clinic staff to provide excellent patient care
- Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, fully use both hands and legs, possess good finger dexterity, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions
- Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required
- Maintain 20/40 vision corrected, see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance, work in a latex safe environment and work indoors
- Frequently lift, lower, push and pull and/or carry objects weighing 50 lbs (+/-) unassisted, exert up to 50 lbs of force, lift from 36" to overhead 25 lbs
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
