Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess patients' functional abilities and limitations, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans aimed at alleviating pain and enhancing mobility. Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities such as traction and electrical stimulation, ensuring all interventions align with physician-prescribed protocols. Collaborate with Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure appropriate implementation of treatment plans and provide supervision as required by state law. Regularly monitor progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on patient feedback and clinical findings. Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries to contribute to comprehensive patient records. Participate in interdisciplinary team discussions to align treatment goals and share insights on patient progress and rehabilitation needs. Educate patients and their families on rehabilitation procedures, home exercise programs, and the use and maintenance of therapeutic equipment.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy with an emphasis on clinical practice
- An active and unencumbered Physical Therapist license in Virginia
- Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software, particularly Web PT, for precise documentation and patient management
- A deep understanding of advanced therapeutic modalities and current physical therapy techniques informed by the latest research
- Excellent communication skills, enabling effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams
