Job Summary
Review all drug orders to judge appropriateness of drug, dose, and frequency, identifying and resolving drug-related problems such as potential allergic reactions and drug interactions. Prepare and dispense medication orders per physician request according to established policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure safe, appropriate, and cost-effective therapies. Oversee the activities of supportive personnel working in the area while maintaining competence required for the current job title. Provide pharmaceutical care to all patients consistent with the goals and objectives of the hospital and the pharmacy department.
Required Qualifications
- Other Degree in pharmacy from an accredited school
- 1-2 years experience
- Previous experience in a meds to beds program
- 2 years of retail pharmacy experience
- Licensed Pharmacist - MO
- Licensed Pharmacist - KS
- Obtain Licensed Pharmacist - MO or equivalent within 90 days
- Obtain Licensed Pharmacist - KS or equivalent within 90 days
- PHARM LIC MO Licensed Pharmacist - MO or proof of pharmacy technician license, pharmacy intern license, or application submitted to board of pharmacy prior to hire with pharmacist license obtained within 90 days of hire
- PHARM LIC KS Licensed Pharmacist - KS or proof of pharmacy technician license, pharmacy intern license, or application submitted to board of pharmacy prior to hire with pharmacist license obtained within 90 days of hire
- Seasonal influenza vaccine
- Vaccination for measles, mumps, rubella (MMR)
- Vaccination for chicken pox (varicella)
- Evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005
- Supply immunization records as proof of vaccination
- Medical and/or religious exemptions discussion with Human Resources (if applicable)
- Drug screen
- Work onsite at one of our Children's Mercy locations
