Job Summary
Evaluate, plan, implement, and document occupational therapy treatment for medically necessary patients based on physician prescriptions. Assess patients to design purposeful activity programs, instruct occupational therapy assistants on procedures, and supervise COTA/OTA staff. Complete all care documentation and billing in a timely manner while adhering to The Joint Commission, state practice acts, and AOTA standards. Maintain Occupational Therapy licensure and obtain Certified Hand Therapist credential within 18 months. Must hold a Master's degree, possess valid CPR certification, and be able to lift 50 pounds, assist with 100 pounds, and push up to 300 pounds. Willingness to work at other locations as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Occupational Therapy degree (Bachelor's degree if graduated prior 1/1/2002; Master's degree required if graduated after 1/1/2002)
- Occupational Therapy license in the state where services will be provided within the first 90 days of employment
- CPR certification (or ability to become certified within the first 90 days of employment)
- Valid driver's license (if assigned to drive a company vehicle)
- Proof of insurance and valid driver's license (if assigned to drive a personal vehicle)
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to assist with 100 pounds
- Ability to push up to 300 pounds
- Willingness to work at other locations as assigned
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential (must obtain within 18 months of hire)
- Master's degree (for candidates graduated prior 1/1/2002)
- American Occupational Therapy Association membership
- Work experience within educational training program
