Job Summary
Conduct thorough evaluations including functional assessments and movement screenings to design tailored treatment plans for an average of seven patients daily. Utilize evidence-based techniques such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities to promote healing for individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain. Engage patients in education regarding prescribed exercises and long-term self-management strategies while maintaining detailed progress records in the electronic health record system. Collaborate with occupational therapists, nutritionists, and administrative staff to ensure comprehensive care. Requires a valid New York State Physical Therapy license and minimum two years of outpatient orthopedic experience.
Required Qualifications
- A valid New York State Physical Therapy license
- A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications
- A Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy
- Experience with specialized techniques such as McKenzie Method, Myofascial Release, or Kinesio Taping
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems and telehealth platforms
