Job Summary
Provide phlebotomy services at designated outpatient clinics, including transporting specimens to the lab, verifying patient identity, collecting samples using proper technique, and obtaining daily results. Check orders for appropriate specimens, complete lab slips, and print specimen labels accurately. Obtain and record weights, heights, vital signs, and head circumference while assisting with examinations and procedures in the Outpatient Department. Prepare exam and triage rooms, monitor supply expiration dates, and maintain phlebotomy supplies. Clean toys per infection control guidelines. Requires current national phlebotomy certification, BLS CPR, and Certified Nursing Assistant certificate with at least one year of phlebotomy experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Current national certification in Phlebotomy
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate through Maryland Board of Nursing
- Minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of pediatric experience
