Job Summary

Perform high-quality MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols, completing patient screening, exam documentation, and image verification in RIS and PACS to support timely physician interpretation. Maintain image quality, productivity, and efficient patient workflow while adhering to MRI safety requirements, including zone protocols, implant screening, and ferromagnetic safety practices. Conduct routine equipment quality control checks, assist with troubleshooting malfunctions, and utilize the SHIELD reporting platform for events outside normal encounters. Provide safe, compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the imaging process and support onboarding and training of staff and students. This role requires ARRT or ARMRI registry eligibility with registration obtained within one year of hire, current BLS certification, and 1-2 years of experience. Candidates must be able to lift patients up to 350 lbs and work continuously standing or walking. Variable hours are available, with the ability to work overtime as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduated from an accredited school of imaging
  • Registry eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) in MRI
  • Must obtain registry within 1 year of hire
  • Must be able to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision
  • Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Must be familiar with age-specific criteria
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
  • Proactively maintains and renews ARRT, state license, BLS, PPD, respirator fit test, and POC training
  • 1-2 years experience
  • General MRI exams
  • Implants
  • Elastography
  • Defecography
  • Ability to rotate to other locations as needed for training/staffing
  • Graduation from an accredited imaging program
  • Registry eligible ARRT(MR)
  • Must obtain MRI registration within 1 year of hire date
  • BLS
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • ARRT MRI registration required within one year
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
  • 0-2 years of modality specific experience required
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to work overtime as required
  • Ability to learn and use new processes, tools, and equipment as required
  • Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations
  • Ability to lift and carry, up to 200 feet, 50lbs, unassisted
  • Ability to lift patients and move patients to 350lbs (+/-), assisted
  • Ability to lift objects from floor level to height of 72 inches, to 50lbs, unassisted
  • Ability to lower objects, to 50lbs (+/-), from height of 72 inches, unassisted
  • Ability to push/pull objects/patients to 350lbs (+/-), unassisted
  • Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected
  • Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand
  • Ability to see and recognize objects at a distance
  • Ability to match or discriminate between colors
  • Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception
  • Good peripheral vision capabilities
  • Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction
  • Ability to hear and understand whispered conversations at a distance of 3 feet
  • Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements
  • Ability to be qualified physically (by medical personnel) for respirator use, initially and annua
