Job Summary
Outpatient LPN/LVN to provide direct patient care and dialysis-related duties under RN supervision. Responsibilities include performing all technical aspects of dialysis procedures, monitoring and recording treatment parameters, administering prescribed treatments and medications per physician orders, reporting significant changes or equipment problems to supervisors, educating patients and families about end-stage renal disease and dialysis therapy, assisting with emergency procedures, maintaining a clean and safe treatment environment, and coordinating care with physicians, dietitians, and social workers. Requires graduation from an accredited practical nursing program, current state licensure, CPR certification, completion of the Nurses Technical Training Program, and the ability to travel between facilities. Strong communication skills and adherence to safety and infection-control policies are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing (LPN, LVN)
- Current appropriate State licensure
- CPR Certification (must complete)
- Nurses Technical Training Program (upon hire or soon thereafter)
- Ability to provide coverage at area facilities during times of short-staffing or as required
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Color vision testing as a condition of employment (Ishihara test)
