Job Summary
Provide direct patient care in the ambulatory infusion suite or exam setting, managing IV needs through the nursing process. Review and interpret patient test results to correlate data with age-specific requirements and adjust care plans. Perform clinical skills including PICC and central line dressing changes, port access, and administration of IV, SQ, IM medications, and blood products. Educate patients and families on self-administration and adverse reaction recognition, while responding to treatment-related phone calls and completing necessary forms. Evaluate complex patient situations and facilitate appropriate interventions using independent nursing judgment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED
- Associate Degree Nursing
- 2 or more years RN experience
- 1 year in specialty of infusion
- Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Single State - State Board of Nursing
- current active multistate state Register Nurse (RN) license in good standing in state in which you live OR active single state RN license in good standing in the state you will be working with proof of application of a multistate RN license in the state in which you live
- Basic Life Support Heartsaver (BLS HS) (Non-Clinical) - American Heart Association (AHA) or obtained within 14 days
- Knowledge of current trends in IV Therapy
