Job Summary
Outpatient Dialysis Registered Nurse supporting the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). Provides clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for an assigned group of patients undergoing hemodialysis, with potential delegation to direct care staff. Participates in decision-making, teaching, leadership functions, and quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes and facility operations. Responsibilities include data collection and documentation in the patient record, education of patients/families, direct provision of safe dialysis therapy, medication administration, emergency response, staff training/orientation, ensuring proper lab procedures, and updating the care plan in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Must complete CAP requirements to advance and may travel to training sites; may require travel to other facilities. Education and licensure requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, current state licensure, CPR/BLS certification, and adherence to nursing practice standards. Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of nephrology nursing experience; chronic/acute hemodialysis experience preferred. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Minimum of 9 months RN experience
- Nephrology dialysis experience preferred (not required)
- Ability to perform duties with heavy lifting and patient handling
- Entry-level RN with less than 2 years nephrology nursing experience
