Job Summary
Outpatient Department Facility Coder with interventional cardiology experience; part-time, remote W-2 position; requires hospital outpatient coding experience 2-4 years; active AHIMA or AAPC certifications (CCS, COC, CPC, RHIT/RHIA); proficient in ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II, NCCI, OCE; knowledge of APC/OPPS; experience with EHRs, encoder CAC tools; identify and resolve coding and claim issues; prior hospital/IDN experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2–4 years of hospital outpatient coding experience
- Active coding certification from AHIMA or AAPC (CCS, COC, CPC, RHIT, RHIA)
- Must maintain active credential status with CEUs
- Experience with ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II and modifiers for outpatient hospital services
- Experience with APC/OPPS reimbursement methodology and outpatient hospital billing processes
- Familiarity with EHRs, encoder software, CAC tools, and revenue cycle systems
- Strong understanding of Official Coding Guidelines, CPT rules, NCCI edits, and OCE edits
- Experience identifying coding errors and resolving claim edits
- Prior hospital/IDN experience preferred
- Interventional cardiology experience
