Job Summary
Outpatient Clinical Care Assistant in Urology at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus provides or assists with patient care in an outpatient clinic under RN/LIP supervision. Responsibilities include completing the rooming process with vitals, documenting findings, collecting specimens and performing point-of-care testing, preparing patients for exams and procedures (including EKG, Holter monitor application, pulse oximetry, hearing and vision screening), administering treatments (dressings, casts/splints), wound care, documenting in the EMR, and supporting daily clinic operations (supply/restock, in-baskets, care gaps, and ensuring clean/organized areas). Must be capable of initiating CPR and other emergency measures; role involves adherence to safety and PPE, with heavy emphasis on patient care across the outpatient setting. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification within the hire period, and at least one year of healthcare experience; EHR proficiency and ability to move and assist patients is expected.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED
- Understanding of human anatomy, basic patient care activities, and math
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross required within the new hire period
- One year of recent healthcare experience in a hospital or ambulatory, homecare, assisted living, nursing home or long-term care setting
