Job Summary
Outpatient Addictions Counselor provides substance use counseling to individuals and families, offering both virtual and face-to-face services. Uses ASAM Criteria to tailor care, with a focus on justice-involved clients, and leads group sessions, individual counseling, and educational groups. Responsible for treatment planning, discharge summaries, documentation, and ongoing training to stay current with evidence-based practices. Works under the Director of Outpatient Addiction Services and contributes to mission-driven care and community reintegration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human service with a focus on substance use, mental health, or criminal justice
- Minimum of two years related work experience
- Certified or certifiable at ACT, CAC, or LAC level for addiction counseling in the state of South Dakota
- Valid driver’s license
