Job Summary
Outpatient Access Rep II-General Radiology handles patient information processing for ambulatory care, including reception, registration, scheduling, and revenue-cycle tasks in the EMR environment. Responsibilities emphasize accurate, customer-friendly data capture to support billable services, with duties spanning greeting patients, collecting demographics and co-pays, verifying patient identity with two identifiers, scheduling and pre-registering visits, coordinating interpreters, and ensuring PHI protection under HIPAA. The role supports insurance management, In Basket/message processing, and coordination of appointments and referrals, with emphasis on delivering a positive ambulatory experience and maintaining smooth clinic operations during night shifts (Fri–Sat 10:00pm–8:30am). Requires high school diploma and related experience; knowledge of medical terminology and EMR systems is preferred; ability to function as a resource to less experienced staff is valued.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or completion of Vision Care 1,2,3 courses required
- 1 year related experience in an administrative office or customer service field required
- Ability to enter data into a database
- Medical terminology experience preferred
- Ability to act as a resource to less experienced staff preferred
- Demonstrated ability to word process documents and enter data into a database preferred
