Job Summary
Outpatient Access Rep II performs patient information processing for ambulatory care visits, including reception, registration, charge reconciliation, appointment scheduling, and EMR data entry. Role requires ensuring patient identification accuracy using two identifiers, directing patients to next steps, and providing warm hand-offs to registration and insurance management. Responsibilities include updating patients on wait times, protecting PHI per HIPAA, collecting demographic and financial information, scheduling and coordinating visits, arranging interpreters and ancillary services, printing After Visit Summaries, managing registration data, assisting with charge reconciliation, and handling high-volume communication via phone and EMR. The position supports staff as a resource, aims to maximize patient satisfaction, and adheres to institutional values (ICARE). Minimum education/experience: High School diploma and 1 year related experience in an administrative office or customer service field, or completion of Vision Care 1–3. Preferred knowledge of medical terminology and data-entry/database skills.
Required Qualifications
